Christopher W. Emmons is the former President and CEO of Gorham Savings Bank. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of Maine, B.S. in Communications and Business Administration, and began his banking career at Maine National Bank in 1977. After stops at BayBank and TD Banknorth, he joined Gorham Savings Bank in 2003.
Chris is a former board member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Advisory Council on Community Banking. A strong community supporter, Chris was involved with the Maine Bankers Association and a number of local non-profit organizations. He is a former board chair of Maine Medical Center, past vice chair of MaineHealth, and also served on the boards of Educate Maine, the University of Maine Board of Visitors and the Alfond Scholarship Foundation, and co-chaired the Maine Early Learning Investment Group. He also enjoyed 40-plus years of service to United Way of Greater Portland where he served as past campaign chair and past board chair. Chris was inducted into the Maine Business Hall of Fame in 2007. He currently serves on the board of the Cianchette Family Enterprise.
Chris lives in Yarmouth, Maine with his wife Marybeth (Nini). They enjoy skiing and boating, and are members of Boothbay Harbor Country Club and Portland Country Club. They have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren.
